Sharebear Pet Care, LLC Policies

Office Hours: 12pm-6pm, M-F. Calls/texts/emails will not be responded to after 6PM. Text/email receive a quicker response and are preferred.

 

General Policies:

Sharebear Pet Care does not job share (even with family) to avoid mistakes and miscommunications. Job Sharing is not covered under SPC insurance policies. SPC must be the only entity/person caring for animals/home.

​

No one may be in the home from the start of the service dates to the end of the service dates. Any undisclosed people in the home will result in immediate termination of service with no refund, as well as immediate evacuation of Client's home.

​

Clients will not receive discounts for departing late or arriving home early.

 

Sharebear Pet Care, LLC (SPC) does not offer dog walking. Indoor or backyard playtime and enrichment is offered alternatively.

​

​Dogs must know basic commands (no, off, potty training) and have a fenced-in backyard that they can use safely.

​

​The utmost care will be given in watching both Client’s pet(s) and home. However, due to the extreme unpredictability of animals, SPC will not be responsible for any ordinary negligence  (i.e., furniture or floor damage, yard damage, illness, or accidental death of your pet(s), etc.) or any complications in administering medications to the animal. Nor can SPC be liable for injury, disappearance, or fines of pet(s) with access to the outdoors.

            If plant watering services are requested, SPC is not responsible for any plant injury or death.

​

Booking & Payment Policies:

  •  Vacation Clients (booking 3+ consecutive days of service):

If You Are Booking 7+ Days Before Needed Service Dates:

  • A 50% NON-REFUNDABLE retainer is required upon presentation of the invoice to secure your dates.

  • If service falls under peak holiday time (November 20th-Jan 2nd), a 75% non-refundable retainer is required upon presentation of the invoice to secure your dates. **Only 25% of your total will qualify for refund during this time- BE CERTAIN OF YOUR DATES!**

  • The remaining balance is due before the first day of service. No services will be rendered until the invoice is paid in full.

If You Are Booking Less Than 7 Days Before Service Dates:

  • 100% retainer is due at the time of invoicing.

•  Daily/Weekly/Single Day Clients:

  • 100% of the invoice total is due at the time of invoicing.

​​

NOTE: Your spot on the schedule is guaranteed only after the retainer is paid. Service dates are non-transferable. If cancellation is at the fault of Sharebear Pet Care, 100% of your total will be refunded.

​

Cancellation & Refund Policies:

  1. Retainers:

    • All retainers are non-refundable.

  2. Cancellations:

    • Vacation Clients: Cancellations must be made at least 7 days in advance for a refund (minus the retainer).

    • Daily/Weekly/Single Day Clients: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance for a refund; refunds are issued as credit only.

  3. Refund Processing:

    • Refunds will be processed back to the Debit/Credit Card you paid your invoice with.

    • Refunds will be started within 3 business days.

Emergency Policies:

​​

In the event of illness, injury, or personal emergency that prevents Sharebear Pet Care from fulfilling a scheduled visit, SPC will make every attempt to notify Client. In the event of a SPC emergency, it will be the Client's responsibility to find another caregiver. It is suggested that you have no less than TWO back up caregivers in the event of an emergency.  If possible, we will assist with recommendations.

If you are unable to be reached, keys/access codes/information will be surrendered to your emergency contact so your pet(s) can continue to receive care. We hope this policy rarely has to be used; However, SPC is a micro business with only one employee.

​

Every Client must have a card on file with their veterinarian in case of emergency and Client cannot be reached. This must be taken care of before Client leaves for their trip.

​

Sharebear Pet Care, LLC will act as Client’s agent in the event of Client’s pet needing immediate medical attention. Client will be responsible for all costs of any emergency veterinary care deemed necessary by a licensed veterinarian, as well as drive time and time spent at veterinary hospital. Additionally, Client agrees that Sharebear Pet Care, LLC will take Client’s pet to an emergency veterinarian in the case of a life-threatening emergency.

If any injury is caused to SPC Sitter by Client’s pet or dangerous condition in Client home, Client is responsible for payment of any and all medical expenses incurred by or on behalf of SPC Sitter.

​

Drop-In Policies:

Drop-ins can be booked up to 3x/day. Available 8AM-6PM. Almost Overnights are available from 7:30PM-9PM with a surcharge.

Pets who require overnight care can book an overnight (7PM-7AM). Sitter may leave to do other sits from 7:30PM-9:30PM but will return to your home for overnight by 10PM.

All times of services are approximate. SPC uses 2-hour windows of time, except in the case of medications.

Cats require at least 1 drop-in/day, even with automatic feeders/litter boxes.

Security Policies: 

Any and all cameras inside the home must be disclosed to Sharebear Pet Care, LLC. No cameras are permitted in bathrooms or sleeping rooms. Any purposely undisclosed cameras will result in immediate termination of service with no refund, as well as immediate evacuation of Client's home.

​

A key is required to be given at Meet and Greet (even if you have electronic/remote entry); Otherwise, a pickup and drop-off fee of $25 will be added. Key will be kept on file with Sharebear Pet Care unless otherwise discussed.

​

No video or still photographs of anyone working for Sharebear Pet Care while in or around Client's home may be used for any purpose without the specific written permission of SPC.

​

Sharebear Pet Care, LLC is not responsible for malfunction of any electronics on the property (alarm, remote entry, garage door, etc.). If Sharebear Pet Care cannot ultimately enter the home, Client will be notified, but that service time slot may be forfeited. It is Client responsibility to make sure home is accessible to Sitter.

​

Communication Policies:

Client must notify Sharebear Pet Care, LLC of any concerns from the pet care within 48 hours of the last visit.

​

​Client must enroll in Precise Petcare Scheduling website and/or app to book services for SPC. Through there, Client can create a pet profile, confirm all information on file is correct, receive pet journals, schedule visits, and much more.

​

“Pet Journals” are sent after each drop-in visit. They include information about your pet(s) meals, watering, potty habits, and a general observation of the visit . It also includes a  photo of your pet from the visit! Communications will only be sent thought these journals.

​

“I’m Home”: As a courtesy, please let Sharebear Pet Care know when you are back home with your beloved pets, so I know they are back in your hands.

​

Summer Policies (Tentatively May 1-Sept 30):

​

These policies are subject to change. Every decision made will be in the best interests of Client’s pet, and of the Sitter. Sharebear Pet Care reserves the right to use their best judgement.

​

Clients’ homes must have working air conditioning and be set no higher than 78 degrees.

​

Dogs will be brought inside when outside temperatures are predicted to be 80 degrees or above. Indoor enrichment will be substituted for outdoor play.

​

Pets MUST have access to water at all times!

​

Possible Additional Fees/Add-Ons:

  • Holidays:

           -Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day: 2x Drop-In Rate/Drop-In, Additional $40/Overnight, Additional $35/Almost Overnight

​           -4th of July & Halloween: Additional $10/Drop-In & Additional $20/Overnight​​

​

  • Travel Fee: $5/Drop-In fee added for zip codes: 95356, 95355, and 95354.

​​

  • Key Pick-Up/Drop-Off Fee: $25/trip (If key is not given at Meet and Greet)

 

  • Medication Administration: $2.50/administration

 

  • Clean Out Litter Box (New Litter): $7+/cleaning

 

  • Clean Small Animal Cage (New Bedding): $7+/cleaning

 

  • Full Yard Poop Scoop: $10+, depending on size of yard

 

  • Second Meet & Greet: $25 (New Pet M&G is complementary if you have already done a primary M&G and have booked services.)

  • “Almost Overnight” After Hours Care (Available 7:30PM-9PM): 30 Minutes Only, Additional $15

​
